...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 PM PDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Wet snow expected. Snowfall of 6 to 12 inches is expected, mostly above 5000 feet, locally greater on the highest peaks. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph. * WHERE...San Diego County Mountains. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 10 PM PDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage. The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 120 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The snow level will be rise to near 7500 feet this morning, then fall to around 5500 feet for late this afternoon and 4000 feet for late tonight. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of Southwest California, including the following areas, San Diego County Coastal Areas, San Diego County Mountains and San Diego County Valleys. * WHEN...Through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A rapidly intensifying low pressure system off the California coast with moisture from an atmospheric river is expected to bring widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall this morning. A band of more widespread showers is expected to move through the area during the late afternoon and evening. Showers will then continue at times through Wednesday.
